Creative Indoor Playgrounds

Your ideas are in good hands with us

As a pioneer in playground construction in Austria, OBRA was presented with ideas for special play equipment and playgrounds decades ago. Our philosophy was then and is even more so today to support the creativity of our customers and to let it take shape in playgrounds. At the same time, we developed a program 10 years ago with which Indoor-Let play areas creatively equip, which you can use in ourn Brochures can take a picture. We present some of our tailor-made indoor play systems to you in this newsletter.

With individual concepts that are tailored to the respective room, high play value can be planned in a small space. Only parts, but also entire rooms, can be equipped with play facilities.

This year a play area was created in the new outlet store of the company legero united - the shoemakers, which integrates perfectly into the interior design. The playground was designed and implemented according to a draft by the planning architect. It impresses with its unobtrusive appearance and a diverse range. Thanks to the transparent design, the accompanying persons always have the children in view and can devote themselves to shopping for shoes undisturbed. The coordination with the architect and customer as well as the assembly was carried out by our sales partner E-Norm and thus ensured a smooth process.

In the hotel business with families as a target group, the entertainment of the little guests is a big issue. Often existing rooms should be increased in their attractiveness through play facilities. We received this task for the existing playroom of the Hotel Glöcknerin in Obertauern. An existing room should be equipped with play equipment that fills the entire room and thus creates the maximum play value. In the creative workshop at OBRA-Design, a cubic play system made of larch wood was designed that makes optimal use of the space available. Platforms of different heights made of wood and net, climbing ropes, net funnels and net bridges, hanging tracks, crawling tubes, nest baskets, etc. invite the little guests to let off steam but also to linger in the facility. Our sales partner for the federal state of Salzburg, Haslinger, took care of the communication with the customer and the installation.

Another indoor play area is currently being implemented for the Lower Austria Museum in St. Pölten. Due to the limited space available, this facility was deliberately kept functional and offers elements for climbing, shackling, balancing, crawling and hiding on 2 levels. The highlight is the tube slide with which the little museum visitors can leave the upper playing level with a tingling sensation in their stomachs. At this point in time, the technical planning and the internal conformity check with the play equipment standard EN1176 has been completed, and production in our plant in Upper Austria is in full swing. Together with our local partner, the company Spielplatzservice Kastenhofer, we look forward to when this new attraction goes into operation in a few weeks.

- made awesome

With the OBRA rombox, OBRA-Design created an absolute novelty on the market for indoor play systems around 10 years ago. A modular system based on sustainable raw materials with which tailor-made solutions can be implemented. In order to be able to offer standardized play equipment for smaller spaces, the indoor basics program was developed a few years later, which is also based on the basic ecological idea of the rombox.

In the autumn and winter of 2017/2018, the Hotel Christoph in Ellmau was expanded with an extension. In this extension, a new play area was also planned over two floors. Due to the sustainable approach and the production located in Austria, the choice fell on a rombox. Our planning team was brought on board at an early stage so that the room and play area could be perfectly coordinated. The result is a 3-story indoor play area measuring approx. 6 x 5,3 x 5,3 m (LxWxH) and an adjacent boulder wall. The lower floor is specially equipped with elements for preschool children. The other two sticks are suitable for older children with different areas for romping, climbing, hiding and lingering. Thus, the scope for the little guests leaves nothing to be desired. Due to the size, a central vacuum cleaner system was built into the system for easier cleaning.

If there is a desire for a more representational design of the play facilities, our creative minds also develop conventional play equipment for indoor areas, as is normally known for use outdoors. Prerequisites are the existing fall spaces and the equipment of the impact surfaces with adequately dimensioned fall protection. One example of this is the two-tower system for toddlers, which was delivered to the Hotel Schettereggerhof in Egg in the Bregenz Forest via our specialist advisor Gerd Kapeller, responsible for the federal states of Tyrol and Vorarlberg.

This concept can also be considered larger and can be extended to entire halls. This is what happened when planning an indoor play area for a garden center. The theme of flowers and plants was taken up and is reflected in the design of the play areas.
